Left Grenada Ms at 8:00 AM and drove to Columbia Mo about 480 mile. We stopped and seen Elvis in Memphis. We had lunch in Osceola Ar. and dinner in St Louis. We will travel to Lincoln Ne tomorrow. Great day and weather. David
So far we have traveled about 1350 miles. We been through Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri. Not bad in three days. We saw a lot of places that are still flooded from the last storm. In one place we saw only the roof of a softball dugout. In Missouri the farmland reminded us of the farmland in Michigan. It's so flat, and you can see for miles. In fact, we watched the crop duster fly over the fields and spray from one side of the field to the other. Once we were approaching the St. John Bayou it was almost over its banks. It looked like it was in some places. They had sandbagged by the road and pumping water in other directions. The southbound lanes were backed up over a mile trying to get into the one lane that was opened. The gas prices haven't been too bad ---- seriously lol Diesel
has been as little as $3.84 a gallon and as much as $4.05. At least we are getting 13 to 14 miles per gallon at 65mph. We're very happy with that. Doc and Reva and Dave and I are tired tonight, but we had a very nice day. /Marilyn
