Soldotna/Anchorage-Dave and Jerry took their King Salmons to be processed and shipped home. Dave had his shipped to Heather’s house and she said that she would take good care of them!!! We’re now heading to Anchorage for a couple days. Dave’s truck is getting a new steering wheel since the one he has is peeling. Once that is done, we are off to Costco to stock up on a few things, and Tuesday we will leave for Wasilla, Talkeetna and Denali National Park. Of course, we will stop at the North Pole and visit Santa’s House then Fairbanks. We’ve driven a little over 7500 miles since we left home. I stopped tallying up the gas, camping and fish processing a few hundred miles back. J We are happy to say gas is $4.45 a gallon in Anchorage compared to $4.71 in Soldotna. Our friends Jim and Jan came in on a cruise yesterday and we picked them up and had a great visit. They’re taking a train trip today and heading home on Wednesday. What fun we are having with our friends and the nice people we meet at each campground. The couple camped next to us is from California and they are on their way to Homer and Soldotna. They just came from Denali and Fairbanks and we exchanged notes about campgrounds, what side trips to take, the fishing charter we took and so on. It’s fun to hear their stories and our course the guys can’t talk enough about fishing. It’s a little warmer here, 62 degrees and not raining. /Marilyn
