Drove from Edmonton AB to Dawson Creek BC almost 400 miles. Dawson Creek is where the Alaska Highway starts and we only have 1350 miles to go and we will be in Alaska. This should take about 5 to7 days. The road is 2 lanes now and we will not be making the time or miles we have in the past. Great trip today. David
Here we are in Dawson Creek.  We took our picture by the "0" mile marker.  We're so excited to start on the Alaskan Highway.  We have a book that is titled, The MILEPOST.  This book tell us mile marker by mile marker what attractions and things to see and do.  Each night we pick a few things and decide once we get there what we want to see.  We were talking to some people from Maine that are heading to Alaska and they said their brother was here last year and had to sit for 4 days because they got 36 inches of snow on May 15th.  We're soooooo lucky!!!  We did see a Moose running across the field today.  By the time I said, "There's a Moose", I grabbed for the camera, had it up side down and missed the whole thing.  We also saw several Mule deer, and a bald eagle.  We are now 3880 miles from home.  We have about 1350 miles to the Alaskan border.  Tomorrow is another day and we can't wait to be on the Alaskan Highway./Marilyn
