Valentine to Mount Rushmore

We left Valentine Ne at 8:00AM and arrived at Mount Rushmore at about 3:00PM. We traveled through the Bad Lands National Park and stopped at Wall Drugs. What a tourist trap. We had a great day and enjoy the sights. David

It's a little cloudy and 47 degrees today,  hope our pictures turn out.   We just crossed over into South Dakota.  It said to check out the filming of Rosebud. ???  I'm to busy to look it up. LOL !!! We now have passed the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee.  It's raining off and on and we can see it over the Badlands, which we are about to enter.  What beautiful scenery.  When you look at it close it looks like clay.  We made about a twenty six mile circle, and on the other side was the Prairie and we saw several Prairie dogs.  I'm sure by all the mounds of sand, that there were a zillion.  Not bad,  it was free to get into the park but they charged $15.00 to leave the park.  We're stopping for the night and are now in Mountain Time Zone.  We unhooked and heading to Mount Rushmore since it's so early.  What a beautiful sight.  It's so different than I remembered as a kid.  They don't charge to get into Mt Rushmore, only $11.00 to park.  As we were leaving we saw three Mountain goats.  I kept hoping we see some animals and there they were.  Doc and Reva invited us over for Chili and It was wonderful.  It was a great night for it since it started to snow and sleet.  We couldn't get the computer to work last night so that is why this one will be a little late.  Yoder our travelling chicken liked the information we had on Mount Rushmore. /Marilyn
